Part of the Subaru Triathlon Series, the Orillia triathlon is in it’s 18th year and is well attended, (approx 1200 athletes). The triathlon is 750M swim, 33KM bike, 7KM run. There is also a relay event, a duathlon and try-a-tri for beginners.Steve Russell placed well in his first ever triathlon, some more work on his swim and he should be right up there! Steve Berath placed well overall and came in 2nd in his age group in the clydsdale category. Michelle Travers competed in her first tiathlon in the try-a-tri. Ryan Travers came down to support the team. Maybe next year we will have a larger group from North Bay attending. Results on Sportstats.

The annual Kiwanis North Bay Triathlon is full and ready to go for this Sunday morning at 9:00AM at Armstrong Beach. Several NBCC members are putting in relay teams or racing individually. Come on down to cheer on the athletes at this great local event! We had nice weather, low winds and sunshine. There was a strong club presence especially in the team event with 5 of the fastest 6 times. It was great to see lots of club jerseys out there on the course.Check out the photos here, (Thanks to Laurie Elliot for taking pictures again this year!)
