A small team of club members, Kevin Stoppa, Aaron Duquette, and Roslyn Prisco headed to Elliot Lake this weekend for the annual stage race. With the criterium and hill climb on Saturday and the road race on Sunday, it makes for a tough weekend.Update: Early results show Roslyn Prisco finishing in second in the Master Womens Hill Climb, way to go! Stay tuned for full results and photos…

The Jewel in the Wilderness Ontario Cup road race in Elliot Lake August 13th an 14th.  Racing in their first road race, Steve Russell, Scott Michaud, David Domonkos, and Danny Domonkos.  Scott raced up a catagory with the Juniors, making his race much tougher.  John Domonkos raced in the Masters catagory, and provided advice along with one man team support crew Kevin Stoppa.  

   All in all a good learning experience for all, even though this was not the easiest entry into the road racing scene.    Everyone is excited to do some more racing next season.  Update:  Check out the pictures HERE.

The Elliot Lake O-Cup was the first road cycling event for members A. Rees, A. Duquette and R. Prisco. Joining the team were cycling vets A. Thompson and J. Domokos. Saturday’s 100 km road race took advantage of Elliot Lake’s hilly terrain and was certainly not an easy task. Despite this being her first road event, Ros Prisco had an excellent race staying with the province’s best female racers for the majority of the race. The men also rode well considering. Post race festivities were also enjoyed at the local watering hole.
